Encounter Vineyard

Number 9 Counselling

Encounter Church Winchcombe

We are all on a journey! Some of us need help at particular times in our lives to do some self-exploration. Number 9 Counselling gives you the opportunity for this in a safe environment.

A little bit about what I believe and what this may look like…

As we step into self-exploration, whether through crisis or a sense that there is ‘more’, I believe that God longs to meet us and accompany us on the journey of self-understanding and integration.

As a Person Centred Integrative Counsellor and Spiritual Director with an Advanced Diploma in Counselling, with membership of the National Counselling Society, I hope that I can in some way represent the unconditional, empathetic, and authentic heart of God in a safe space, as I facilitate the process by which you/we might become more of the people we were intended to be.

I believe we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, rather we are Spiritual Beings having a human experience. I believe that the core of human personality and our soul is fundamentally trustworthy and positive and that we have an in-built need for growth.

I believe that human growth can be inhibited by the impact of broken humanity, whether experienced in the context of childhood and or adult life. In our woundedness we can in turn wound others, so creating and being part of broken family and society. The impact of this may well be an inhibited ability to fully develop or grow as intricately complex interdependent psychosociobiospiritual people with fundamental needs.

In the context of counselling (or/and spiritual direction) I believe there is a huge capacity for personal development and change whereby it is possible to listen to ourselves, lower defence and understand our belief system and how it has been maintained, so that we can let go of self-protective strategies and conditions of worth and become a more whole and fully functioning person.
