Encounter Vineyard

Wellbeing – Kintsugi Hope

“Thank you to our friends at Stoke Gifford for producing this video – our course runs here at Encounter Vineyard so you do not have to travel to Bristol!”

What is Kintsugi Hope?

Kintsugi is the name of the Japanese art form for mending broken pots with golden glue.

Rather than trying to hide the cracks, the gold makes a feature of the cracks and then the item can become more beautiful … it certainly becomes more unique.

Encounter Church Winchcombe

This analogy can be used for us in our lives, as we are all broken in some way. By embracing the cracks instead of trying to hide them, and finding beauty in our brokenness, we can begin the journey to become the people God intended us to be, find hope for the future and discover the treasure in life’s scars.

Encounter Vineyard has been officially partnering with Kintsugi Hope and running wellbeing groups since 2020 – group participants say:

“An invaluable experience”

“Hugely supportive and positive”

“Stimulating, authentic … I highly recommend it”
