I wonder … how much hope do we feel in our hearts at this season of life? Are we walking around feeling hopeful or hopeless?
As we return to our series ‘All Things New’ this weekend, I want to remind us all that, no matter what we are going through, we can run straight into the arms of our Father, who is the God of all ever-flowing hope.
In Romans 15:13 Paul says, in what is one of my favourite verses, “May the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
It strikes me that when we are full of hope, we can live with all joy and peace as we place our trust in our God who is good. This is not something that we can just conjure up on our own, it is something that happens by the power of the Holy Spirit.
As we watch the news, read the papers and scroll through our news feeds, we are reminded that the world doesn’t offer much hope. It mostly offers heartbreak. But God (I love that phrase) in His unfailing love and mercy, offers hope without reserve. And this hope is not a drip, it isn’t a dribble, it’s an abundant waterfall until our lives are overflowing with the hope of Heaven!
Are you in need of hope today?
If you are then let me encourage you to turn your heart toward the Holy Spirit and ask Him to fill you afresh with His hope, joy and peace as you place your trust in Him.
The eyes of the Lord are always on those who fear him and whose hope is in his unfailing love!
