Centre your life

Not only have we been focussing on Vision this month but we have also been in our series ‘Here and Now’ where we have been looking at the book of Hebrews and reminding ourselves of the race that we all run together as you centre your life.

In our everyday lives it can be very challenging to focus on Jesus in the way that Hebrews 12 encourages us to ‘fix our eyes on Him and ‘consider Him.’ We can feel like our priorities and responsibilities are swirling all around us as we try to balance all that we steward. The focus of our energy can easily shift from one thing to the next as we navigate life.

Living this way can feel exhausting and stressful because it puts our priority on getting things finished and this can clash with our call to intimacy with the Lord. We know that each day should be dedicated to receiving the love of the Father and sharing it to those around us.

Many of these responsibilities are incredibly important, but we need to keep reminding ourselves that our main call in our lives is to be as close to the Lord as we possibly can. When we place God in the centre of our lives, ultimately it means that we make everything else revolve around His purpose and grace.

In the end, anything done without the Lord’s presence, grace and provision is done in vain, so we must do all things through His abundance. We will only ever find fulfilment in our day-to-day lives when God remains at the centre of everything we do. A big challenge!
